This is what happens when I attempt to write poetry and do computer upkeep simultaneously while sick over spring break just after daylight savings time kicks in. The eighth line is in Dakota and roughly translates as “My imaginary friends are arguing, it’s very noisy in my head today.

A poem wrote to commemorate time spent with friends when we would spend a long weekend between the local Renaissance Festival and camping out with a bonfire before returning the next day.

Kiss of the Spider Monkey

I always feel the randomness of this poem always demands an explanation. This poem came about as a class assignment to write a poem that had to include the following random nouns. Spider monkey, cinder block, kittens, elephant, zebra, rocks, lion fish, bottle, snapdragon, turtle, puddle, copper, eggplant, and diapers. From those words, this noir cartoon was formed and when on to be my first piece of published work.
